Current Word Count: 15,131

I will include my current word count from now on. This will help to show my progress better than anything I can say. I will brag a bit that I wrote 3,476 words today. That is far from typical, but I was really on a roll!

I decided on an Estimated Total Word Count of 80,000. I researched different genres of books and it seems this is a good number for the type of book I am writing. Based on the ages of my main characters and the world they live in, I think my book will fit into the Young Adult/ Dystopian category. As I continue, we will see if it is a good fit.

I also chose a completion date of 7/17/2019. Although it seems like a random date, there is a slight method to the madness. As I have mentioned before, my book is NOT derivative work. I was inspired while reading Clancy’s stories, but I have original characters set in a place that is NOT DEMA. I would like to use some of the DEMA names and minor concepts in my book, therefore, I would need to get permission to use copyrighted material. A book completion date of July 17th would give me ample time to edit before the end of the current TØP tour.

Again, even though my book would only possess some DEMA details, I will need TØP’s permission to publish. As of now, I believe I will send the manuscript through Fueled By Raman to both Tyler and Josh. So, the chosen date will give time to edit and mail out before they make it home from their tour.
