Generally, I write early in the morning and throughout the day, when I can. I get up at 5:00 AM, give or take 10 – 15 minutes. I do not set an alarm, my body has simply decided that super early in the morning is a great time to get up. I can either lay in bed doing nothing, which includes not going back to sleep, or I can get up and write. Since I am excited about writing, that is the choice I make. Due to the early morning routine I developed, I get the bulk of my writing done before anyone else in the house is awake.

On a side note, I am looking forward to school being out. The school year impacts me because I have children. I also work in an elementary school, when I am not writing. Lets be honest, it is really the reverse, I get to write when I am not working. So far this is OK; it has to be since I have no other choice.

I love my job, but it is hard on my soul sometimes. I’m a Family Liaison, so I help find resources and advocate for families. I also run the Backpack Program at the school to ensure about 30 families go home with food every week. There is so much more to my job, but I will go back to the purpose of this blog.

I will be traveling soon, so I really need to get my ducks in a row. My immediate family (husband & two kids) will be traveling to a family camp for the weekend (next Fri-Sun), and then most of us will leave to visit my family the following week. I want to be sure to pack what I need to write while on my journey here and there. I have an iPad with a keyboard that will serve as my writing computer. I think I will work in a Google Doc. It seems like a smart/convenient way to go.

Did I mention I get to see Twenty Øne Piløts in concert for the first time, while on my big trip? AHHHHHH! I am very excited that it worked out. More about that when the time comes.
