As you will be able to tell from the pictures, it pays to camp out all day, even in the freezing snow. I was very close to the stage! I will take just a moment to compare the Jacksonville show with Denver. I’m very happy I got to go to both concerts. Although the shows were on two legs of the same tour, each one was different.
In Jacksonville, my family and I had seats, so I was able to see the entire show. This involved seeing details on large screens and mostly watching the show from afar. The seats were in front of the B-stage, so that was my best view. There were different songs between the two shows. The Trench album was primary, but other song choices had been changed, which meant visuals and “tricks” were different. Specifically, in Denver there was no disappearing act during Fairly Local, because the song was not played. Jacksonville also had the bridge from A-stage to B-stage, which was a marvel of design.
In Denver, I was in the pit. This meant I needed to camp out instead of simply walking in. That turned out to be a great experience. Since I was committed to camping out, I was able to get 2-3 people back from the stage (lots of movement/shifting during the concert). I also got to hold up Tyler during HOTY, which was awesome! That sentence did not have the immense amount of joy I felt, but believe me I was elated!
Double-edged-sword…because I was so close to the A-stage, when Tyler & Josh made a path and went to the B-stage, I could not see anything. Most of the B-stage was not on the big screens in the front, so I was thankful I already knew what was going on. Lastly, being in the epicenter of Trees during Josh’s drumming and confetti everywhere was a crazy experience that cannot be compared.
In short, I would not trade either concert experience for anything! They were both unique and well worth it!
Enough talking, enjoy the concert pictures!
