Polishing

I am about half-way finished editing the book. I feel like a person going through a bag of mostly smooth rocks, just polishing the occasional blemish. Every once in a while, I find a place where a comma is prudent or perhaps re-wording might make the prose just that much more lovely. Shouldn’t I be sick of the story by now? Thankfully, I am not and will count it as a good thing.

Empty grocery store shelves.

Switching gears completely. I ran to the grocery store with a few friends as we were all waiting for our children to finish their extra-curricular activities. Apparently the rumors of patrons cleaning out the shelves is true. My family’s regular grocery shopping trip is this weekend, but I am a little worried about shortages. In addition to the toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaning supplies that would have been down the featured aisle, there were many other empty sections of the store. Notice the blue pig in the picture looks as surprised and confused as I feel.

I also got word that Denver Public Schools, as well as other districts in Colorado, will be on an extended spring break. Great time to work on a post-apocalyptic novel, right?
